A year ago I weighed 260 pounds. My diet consisted of ice cream, frozen pizzas, and fast food. I Couldn’t run a few blocks without stopping because I thought I was going to pass out. I was lazy. I was depressed. I was filled with fear. This past Saturday I ran 4+ miles, did 150 burpees, and went through 15+ obstacles in my first Spartan Race. All under two hours. The next morning I hiked a mile up and down a mountain. My life is forever changed. All together I’ve lost 70 pounds. And through this entire journey, I’ve gained my entire life back. I’m finally able to do the things I’ve only ever dreamed of. Please don’t ever think that your dreams are too far out of reach! Keep pushing, keep fighting, keep breathing. YOU are worth it.

Here’s a new Before and During. 240lbs wasn’t my official highest weight, but it’s when I started to take personal photos to track my progress. I’m 50lbs down from the first photos and I can see such a difference in my body, my confidence, and my life. Unfortunately my breasts have shrunk a bit and will continue to do so, but I guess that’s a small price to pay to have the body I’ve always dreamed of. My goal weight is settled somewhere between 180 and 150lbs, so once I feel comfortable with how I look, I will stop trying to lose and start trying to maintain. I am sure I will have a body I’m proud of by the time I graduate college in June!

HOW TO SURVIVE A HEART ATTACK WHEN ALONE Let’s say it’s 6.15pm and you’re going home (alone of course), after an unusually hard day on the job. You’re really tired, upset and frustrated. Suddenly you start experiencing severe pain in your chest that starts to drag out into your arm and up into your jaw. You are only about five miles from the hospital nearest your home. Unfortunately you don’t know if you’ll be able to make it that far. You have been trained in CPR, but the guy that taught the course did not tell you how to perform it on yourself..!! NOW HOW TO SURVIVE A HEART ATTACK WHEN ALONE… Since many people are alone when they suffer a heart attack, without help, the person whose heart is beating improperly and who begins to feel faint, has only about 10 seconds left before losing consciousness. However, these victims can help themselves by coughing repeatedly and very vigorously. A deep breath should be taken before each cough, and the cough must be deep and prolonged, as when producing sputum from deep inside the chest. A breath and a cough must be repeated about every two seconds without let-up until help arrives, or until the heart is felt to be beating normally again. Deep breaths get oxygen into the lungs and coughing movements squeeze the heart and keep the blood circulating. The squeezing pressure on the heart also helps it regain normal rhythm. In this way, heart attack victims can perhaps buy precious time to get themselves to a phone and dial 911. Rather than sharing another joke please contribute by broadcasting this which can save a person’s life! Be prepared and become part of the solution.
